About the Parents Plus ADHD Courses
This programme addresses the particular needs of parents of children with ADHD aged 6 to 12 years. This programme runs for 8 weekly 2.5 hour sessions and it aims to help parents to:

- Support their child and understand the experiences and needs of ADHD children
- Create warm, connected relationships
- Manage behavioural and emotional concerns
- Understand the role of medication and other supports
- Encourage their child’s learning and education
- Help their child talk about and understand ADHD
- Reduce their own stress as parents
- Support children’s friendships
- Build their children’s self-esteem and confidence
- Solve problems together with their child
Note: your child does not need to have a formal diagnosis of ADHD for you to attend.
The programmes are run by an Accredited Parents Plus facilitator and are delivered on Zoom with a group of about 14 parents. There is an opportunity for parents to explore, discuss and give/gain support around the ups and downs of supporting their child and the whole family on the ADHD journey.
Dates for the next set of programmes starting in April 2026:
Evening programme Starting on Weds. April 22nd (7.00 – 9.30pm) and running for 8 weeks to June 10th

- Two weeks prior to starting the course, the facilitator contacts each parent and arranges an individual pre course session (usually 30/40 mins) to discuss your goals and to ensure the course meets your needs.
- You will also receive the accompanying course parent book by post.
- We will be asking parents to participate in pre and post surveys to help us evaluate the benefits of the course and what type of support parents need. We will give you more details when you sign up.
